It was a privilege sharing what God has been doing with the Aprender education project at last years conference in Bishops Stortford. Since then we have been preparing for this summers visit to Uberaba and Goiania. We have been invited by the Brazilian government to speak again at a large education conference (about 3, 000 teachers) which is a great position to be in. We are hoping to take a bigger team this year and I’m looking for energetic, enthusiastic Christian teacher’s who are interested in joining us! We are also planning an additional educational conference hosted by Sal da Terra Church that will help build links into the local community. During February half term, Aprender went ‘continental’ with a visit to Flavio and Karen Guaratto’s home in Bergamo, Italy. We were able to deliver a presentation at the Guaratto’s for interested teacher’s and neighbours with whom they’ve been building relationships. This then led to me being given the opportunity to visit two schools with Flavio and speak with more staff. They were really interested and the whole thing caused quite a stir. The teacher’s are keen to have us back even though there are troubled times ahead for the teaching profession as a result of the economic turmoil.
