Prayer Request from Flavio
Hi dear friends,
Greetings from Italy.
In your cells today, would you take a few minutes to pray for some key
issues going on over here please?
The next 8 weeks are going to be crucial for Pedro and Ana's school year. They've been very brave and hardworking in their studies and we're very proud of them, but the Italian system demands a test (oral and written in Italian obviously) at the end of each year. If students fail they would have to repeat the whole school year, which would be awful. Please pray that they will feel encouraged and motivated every day to cope with the pressure and deliver and get a big PASS at the end.
Karen's parents are facing a very tough time in Brazil and that affects us very much because of the distance and feeling of powerlessness.
Health - we've been facing a few health issues. We've made lots of tests recently and hope to be able to tackle the problems.
Finance - Hidden costs are incredible over here and the 'system'(landlord, condominium, electricity & gas suppliers, etc...keep asking us money in advance plus huge bills (first it was the eletricity and more recently the year condominium bill including heating came 3,500 Euros). CRAZY!!!
With the fall of the British Sterling in relation to the Euros we've lost around 40% of our UK income, which is about half of our total income. Keep praying that God will sustain our supporters in this time of crisis.
I think i've found some key people who can be the core group for an Alpha course. They responded very well to my initial invitation and we should come together for a deeper talk soon.
We've found an abandoned cinema complex right in the middle of the town, surrounded by nice coffee bars & restaurants and companies (including the local Apple shop). It has the potential to be a fantastic facility for a Centre for international Culture, a church, school of language, etc... After a lot of research I found the landlord and will talk to him soon. Pray we'll have wisdom about it and discern God's will and timing.
We miss you all very much.
With blessing and love, Flavio & Karen |
