Brazilians in Aachen 98
Just after the Arise Europe 98 (October 98), a group of 23 Brazilians left the UK towards Aachen, Germany. The purpose of the journey was to strength our relationships with our German brothers and sisters. Aachen was chosen for the presence of Alan Oliveira and his family, as a result of partnership between Brazilian and British churches sending them to Germany and because of the contacts we have with some German churches over there.
We spent only two days with them, but very important ones. In our first morning we had the opportunity of meeting leaders of other churches. We explain to them about Go to the Nations and about the desire of removing the stones that the enemies threw into the wells of salvation in Europe. After that we prayed together and we saw the Holy Spirit being poured out upon us. It was great to see the Brazilians praying with them in our "style" – standing up, walking, laying hands on them and declaring loudly the word of God. Tears and broken hearts came quickly as a result of that.
In that same day on evening we participated of a service in the church where Alan is working with. We sung and prayed again. It was amazing to see the German Pastor asking the Brazilian people to pray in the same way he saw us praying during the morning and again we were blessed.
A Polish brother shared the word that evening and we had four languages being spoken in the same service: Polish, German, English and Portuguese. |
