Bravo Juliet!

Juliet Rogers, from Coventry Christian Fellowship, is now in Uberlandia with a vision to set up a training programme for underprivileged people in partnership with the Sal da Terra church. A brief outline follows:
Training programme
Using the industrial kitchen currently available in São Jorge, a pilot training programme will be set up which will give young underprivileged people the chance to gain recognised catering qualifications while also equipping them with the skills needed to maintain a job in a competitive work environment. The local church congregation (pastored by Zachareus) will be actively involved in this programme and will use it to outreach into the local community. It is planned that this training programme will start in October 2001.
Restaurant business
With a local business partner, I plan to set up a restaurant that will provide work experience opportunities for the trainees. The target customers will be business people and the profits from the restaurant will eventually fund the training programmes. I believe that God will use this to speak to people working in business in Uberlandia. I will probably look to take over an existing restaurant that is wanting to sell, as this will be the easiest and quickest way. I envisage the restaurant will open in early 2002.
