Crossing The Bridge
This summer has seen an almost constant flow of people between Brazil and the UK as an expression of the relationships between churches working with the Go to the Nations Link vision, which will continue into the autumn. These are the visits we know about!
In June 31 people from Christian Life Centre, Hereford, spent two weeks with Sal da Terra, (SdT) Uberlandia; a team from the Free Baptist Church in Joboticabal visited Carlow Community Church in Southern Ireland; a group from Joinville visited their friends in east Birmingham centred around Glebe Farm Baptist Church; and a team from Shlaom, Uberlandia led an Encounter weekend with Jubilee Christian Centre at Hay on Wye as part of a tour across Europe.
In July some people from City Gates Church, Gloucester spent time with the Vigilato congregation of SdT in Uberlandia.
In August Paulo Junior from SdT, Uberlandia, will be visiting the UK and attending a conference in Ashburnham as well as visiting churches in relationship with SdT.
In September a group of 22 from seven different churches in the UK plus one person from South Africa will spend two weeks in Florianopolis and Criciuma, including the Missions Conference in this latter city from 19th – 21st September. Some of the group are then staying for another week, some visiting Uberlandia, and another Recife and Vitoria.
In October another group from Rugeley Community Church will be setting out for Goiania to deepen their relationship with the Net in Action group.
Beyond these ‘planned’ trips, there have also been several Brazilians ‘passing through’ the UK or visiting missionaries currently based over here. The bridge is getting busy!
