rubinho in portugal Rubinho is one of the pastors of Sal da Terra Christian Church, Uberlandia, and spent one year in the UK with East Lancashire Community Church (now Salt Church) in Bolton.

A popular Brazilian cartoonist and author has found himself used by God to launch TWR’s newest associated work in Europe, Radio Trans Mundial-Portugal.

Ruben (Rubinho) Filho first came to Portugal in 1993 to repay a debt of gratitude to Europe for taking the gospel to his native Brazil - a country which now has more born-again Christians than the whole of Europe.

Approached by TWR-Europe’s ministry director for Southern Europe, Tom Streeter, Rubinho caught a renewed vision for his adopted country, and went on to found RTM-Portugal, TWR’s 26th National Partner in Europe.

RTM-Portugal’s first programmes for the Portuguese people went out in October, using local FM stations to broadcast the Portuguese version of then popular Bible teaching programme Thru the Bible.

Rubinho hopes before long to establish a dedicated Christian radio station in the heart of Lisbon for the capital’s 1.5 million people, and to create a network of partnerships with local stations nationwide to make gospel radio available to everyone.
